COVID-19 PROTECTION

There is no greater time than now to keep everyone informed as we all navigate through this uncharted territory.  As we begin to recover from this pandemic, it is indisputable that the world has now changed forever and it isn’t business as usual. We must pivot and adapt to change very quickly to keep everyone safe.

At Eco Skin Clinic, safety and hygiene has always been at the forefront of our best practices. And now, we have taken a deeper dive into research with experts to create new safety precautions.  â€‹

​

All our therapists have undergone online training with Dermalogicas in depth Clean Touch course covering 12 key principles for enhanced service safety, developed in accordance with the highest professional-grade standards and Barbcide training sterilisation and disinfection.

 

We follow 12 principles to keep all our clients and everyone working at the clinic safe. We ask all clients to read through these principles and work with us, with understand and acceptance.

 

Principle 1: Pre-screening clients and therapists

​Prescreen clients and therapists to ensure everyone is free from any sickness and have not had contact with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the previous 14 days. 

CLIENTS:

  1. Have you tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days?​

  2. Have you experienced the following symptoms in the past 14 days?​ This includes: fever, dry cough, body aches, headaches, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of taste and/or smell, diarrhoea.

  3. Have you been in contact with anyone testing positive for COVID-19 or showing symptom, in the past 14 days? 

  4. Are you or your immediate contacts in a high-risk category?

If you respond with a yes to any of these, please do not book your treatment or if already booked please cancel.

THERAPISTS:

All therapists will be free from any sickness and temperature checked prior to beginning the work shift. If any of therapists are unwell or have a temperature they will cancel your appointment and not come into the center.

 

Principle 2: High Risk Groups not advised to come in for treatments

High risk category:

  • have had an organ transplant

  • are having chemotherapy or antibody treatment for cancer, including immunotherapy

  • are having an intense course of radiotherapy (radical radiotherapy) for lung cancer

  • are having targeted cancer treatments that can affect the immune system (such as protein kinase inhibitors or PARP inhibitors)

  • have blood or bone marrow cancer (such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma)

  • have had a bone marrow or stem cell transplant in the past 6 months, or are still taking immunosuppressant medicine

  • have been told by a doctor they have a severe lung condition (such as cystic fibrosis, severe asthma or severe COPD)

  • have a condition that means they have a very high risk of getting infections (such as SCID or sickle cell)

  • are taking medicine that makes them much more likely to get infections (such as high doses of steroids or immunosuppressant medicine.

Principle 3: Physical Distancing

We will endeavour to ensure physical distancing protocols of 6 feet between clients in common areas.

We will be doing this by:

  • Limiting the number of people in reception – We are asking all client to not arrive too early for their appointments and be understanding that if a client is in reception, you will have to wait outside, in the area next to the front door until they have left.

  • We will endeavour to stagger appointments bookings

  • Each booking with have a room disinfecting booking with it, so the room is sanitised and disinfected before each treatment. Please if booking online add this to your booking or your treatment may have to be cut short to follow this procedure.

  • We will require clients to sanitise their hands upon arrival and refrain from hugging, kissing, or shaking hands.​

  • We will bring any products you want to buy to you after your treatment and take payment and re-book your appointment, in the treatment room, so you do not need to wait in reception for any time after your appointment.

 

Principle 4: Protective Wear

  • All therapists will wear a clean, dry mask during each shift. Therapists will wear a freshly laundered uniforms for that day, changing into it at the clinic so not to contaminate it, prior to work. Each therapist will then change before leaving work.

 

Principle 5: Hand Sanitation

  • Hands shall be sanitised on entry to the skin care center. Therapists will wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds before and after touching clients, after contact with soiled or unsterilised tools and surroundings. 

 

Principle 6: Gloves

  • Gloves are not recommended over thorough hand washing unless they are requested by clients. If used, gloves shall be changed before and after touching clients and after contact with any soiled or unsterilized tools and surroundings.

 

  • Please note that Dermalogica is not recommending the use of gloves because you are able to quickly, efficiently and more often wash and sanitise your hands. Wearing gloves does not prevent cross-contamination but can lead to a false sense of security. Consistent washing of your hands with soap and water is a best practice. ​

 

Principle 7: Disinfection of products and surfaces

  • All professional use products shall be disinfected after each use.

  • ​All hard surfaces including door handles, light switches electrical equipment and products will be wiped down with disinfectant before each client service.

 

Principle 8: Treatment Beds

  • Treatment beds will be covered with clean treatment table paper. 

​

Principle 9: Disinfection of equipment and electrical items

  • All non-porous, metal or plastic non-disposable equipment, as well as surfaces, will be cleaned and then disinfected before each use. Electrical items will be sprayed or wiped before each use.

Principle 10: Separation of dirty and clean items

  • Clean and dirty items and tools will be kept visibly separate

Principle 11: Regular disinfection of the center

​All high touch areas throughout the skin center shall be disinfected when visibly soiled and throughout the day.

 

Principle 12: Temporary removal of tester products

Retail testers will be removed from reception for the time being but if you would like to try a product the therapists can get the product for you to try or you can take a sample home with you.
