Waxing

Waxing lasts longer than shaving, which is the usual alternative. With shaving and depilatory creams lasting a day or two and waxing you can be hair free for as long as six weeks.

Advantages of waxing:

• Slower Regrowth: Waxing removes the hairs from the root. With shaving, the hairs are cut off close to skin level, therefore the shaven hair will start to be seen within a day or two.

• Smoother finish: Due to the hair being taken from the root you will have not stubble, giving a smoother finish for 3-4 weeks.

• Finer regrowth: Shaving results in a blunt cut which feels stubbly. Waxing, the hair is removed at the follicle, so it grows with a finely tapered end, resulting in a finer and not stubbly feel. Over time, individual hairs may stop growing back altogether and you end up with a sparser coverage of hair. 

• Exfoliating the skin: As you wax it removes skin cells which performs an exfoliation of the area. The result is is smooth, radiant, clean skin. Due to this do not exfoliate for 48 hours either side of your waxing appointment as this can make your skin more sensitive.

• No shaving rash: With shaving causing friction to the area every few days, with waxing you can avoid this for over a month at a time giving your skin a chance to calm down.

• Fewer ingrown hairs: If you’re particularly prone to ingrown hairs then let your beautician know, and also make sure you exfoliate and moisturise well, two days after the wax.

• Waxing means no more shaving cuts: A waxing will not result in nicks or cuts, or any type of skin damage.
